Four Seasons Resort on Lanai, Hawaii.
When Bill Gates and Melinda French got married on the Hawaiian island of Lanai in 1994, they celebrated the occasion with magnificent views over the ocean at the signature golf course on the grounds of the Four Seasons Resort Lanai.
And now, you can do the same.
The Four Seasons Resort Lanai‘s Manele Golf Course has opened its gorgeous 12th hole for weddings, giving you a chance to get married at the exact same location as Gates himself.
Built on lava outcroppings, the hotel’s Manele Golf Course sits above the waters of Hulopoe Bay, where you’ll often spot dolphins and humpback whales swimming below.
The Jack Nicklaus-designed course’s 12th hole is known for the carry it requires across 200 yards of ocean, all while offering mesmerizing views of the surrounding coast.
Those who enjoy exclusivity will find this an ideal location, as the hole only accommodates up to 50 people, though Gates went so far as to book every room in the hotel to ensure his celebration was kept ultra private, according to the Seattle Times.
That being said, other spaces on the course can accommodate up to 400 people, with the links available for your private use starting at 4 p.m.
The ceremony will include an island feel throughout as a conch shell signals the beginning of the wedding, while vows are exchanged on top of a red lava cliff 150 feet in the air as you overlook the Pacific Ocean.
The evening continues with a dinner underneath the stars, while the resort offers guests a total of 213 rooms and 45 suites, all of which come with views of either Hulopoe Bay, the ocean, or the resort’s private gardens.
The links can be rented out at a starting price of $10,000.
